About the Minority Cell

The Minority Cell of Akhilabhagya Post Graduate College, Ranapar, Gorakhpur (Affiliated to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur) has been established to promote an inclusive academic environment and to safeguard the educational interests and welfare of students belonging to minority communities. The Cell is committed to ensuring equal opportunities, encouraging academic excellence, and facilitating access to Government welfare schemes, scholarships, and institutional support services.
The Minority Cell works to create a campus culture that values diversity, mutual respect, and harmony, enabling every student to participate confidently in academic, cultural, research, sports, and extension activities without discrimination.

Mission
• To promote equal educational opportunities for students belonging to minority communities.
• To create awareness about Government scholarships, fellowships, and welfare schemes.
• To provide guidance and support for academic and career development.
• To encourage active participation of minority students in all aspects of campus life.
• To promote communal harmony, mutual respect, and constitutional values.
• To provide a supportive mechanism for addressing issues affecting minority students.

Objectives
• To support the educational and overall development of minority students.
• To disseminate information regarding Central and State Government scholarship schemes and other educational assistance.
• To promote an inclusive, discrimination-free campus environment.
• To provide counselling and guidance on academic, career, and personal development.
• To encourage participation in co-curricular, cultural, sports, and leadership activities.
• To coordinate with Government agencies and other institutional support cells for the welfare of minority students.

Functions of the Minority Cell

The Minority Cell shall:
• Guide students regarding scholarships, fellowships, fee reimbursement, and other welfare programmes offered by the Government.
• Organize awareness programmes, seminars, workshops, and counselling sessions on educational opportunities and career development.
• Encourage minority students to participate actively in academic and extracurricular activities.
• Promote awareness of constitutional values, social harmony, and national integration.
• Coordinate with various statutory bodies and support cells of the College to ensure equal opportunities for all students.
• Maintain records of activities undertaken by the Cell and submit periodic reports to the College authorities.

Scholarship and Support Services

The Minority Cell provides guidance regarding:
• Central Government Scholarship Schemes.
• State Government Scholarship Schemes.
• National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Schemes.
• Career counselling and competitive examination guidance.
• Academic mentoring and institutional support services.

Student Support
Students belonging to minority communities who require academic guidance, information regarding scholarships, career counselling, or institutional support are encouraged to contact the Coordinator of the Minority Cell or visit the College Office during working hours.
The Cell is committed to extending guidance and assistance in a fair, transparent, and student-friendly manner.
