About the Grievance Redressal Cell & Committee
The Student Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC) of Akhilabhagya Post Graduate College, Ranapar, Gorakhpur (Affiliated to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur) has been constituted in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) (Redress of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023 to provide a fair, transparent, accessible, and time-bound mechanism for addressing the grievances of students.
The Cell is committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of students by ensuring that concerns relating to academic matters, administrative services, campus facilities, examinations, scholarships, student welfare, and other institutional issues are addressed promptly and impartially. The SGRC strives to foster a student-centric environment that promotes transparency, accountability, and continuous institutional improvement.

• To ensure compliance with the UGC Regulations relating to student grievance redressal.
Functions of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell
The Student Grievance Redressal Cell shall:
• Receive and acknowledge grievances submitted by students.
• Examine complaints relating to academic, administrative, and student welfare matters.
• Conduct inquiries, wherever necessary, in a fair and transparent manner.
• Recommend appropriate corrective measures to the competent authority.
• Monitor the timely disposal of grievances.
• Maintain confidentiality of proceedings wherever required.
• Organize awareness programmes regarding students' rights and grievance redressal procedures.
• Maintain records of grievances received and actions taken.
• Submit periodic reports to the College authorities.
Matters that may be referred to the SGRC
Students may submit grievances relating to:
• Admission and enrolment.
• Teaching-learning process.
• Internal assessment and evaluation.
• Examination-related issues.
• Scholarships, fellowships, and financial assistance.
• Student services and administrative matters.
• Library, laboratory, and other academic facilities.
• Hostel and campus amenities (where applicable).
• Issuance of certificates and official documents.
• Any other matter affecting the academic interests and welfare of students.
The SGRC does not ordinarily entertain matters that fall within the jurisdiction of other statutory bodies, such as:
• Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) – matters relating to sexual harassment.
• Anti-Ragging Cell – complaints relating to ragging.
• Disciplinary Committee – disciplinary proceedings.
• Matters pending before any court, tribunal, or other competent authority.
Grievance Redressal Procedure
Students may submit their grievance in writing or through the prescribed online/offline grievance submission mechanism available with the College.
Upon receipt of a grievance, the SGRC shall:
• Register and acknowledge the complaint.
• Examine the grievance and obtain necessary information.
• Hear the concerned parties, wherever required.
• Recommend appropriate action to the competent authority.
• Communicate the outcome to the student within the prescribed time frame.
The Cell shall ensure that all grievances are handled with fairness, confidentiality, and impartiality in accordance with the applicable UGC Regulations and institutional policies.
